Mr. Mylin Patrick ''Tobe'' Tobin 85, of Charlotte, died Thursday, July 18, 1996.
Mr. Tobin was born May 30, 1911 in San Luis Potsoi [sic Potosi], Mexico and was raised in Bonham, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University and the University of Texas. Subsequently, Mr. Tobin was employed by Swift and Company for 43 years until his retirement in 1976. He moved to Charlotte in 1955.
''Tobe'' enjoyed the many friendships he made as a Rotarian and enthusiastic member of Carolina Golf Club.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Clarke Tobin; daughters, Deverly Hathaway and her husband, Don of Asheville, and Patsy Ryan and her husband, John of Charlotte; grandchildren, Julie Schlotman of Greensboro, Tricia Scholtz of Chapel Hill, Allison Timperio of Franklin, MA, Trey Ryan of Atlanta, GA and Erin Ryan of Charlotte; and three great-grandchildren.
Prayer service will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Harry & Bryant Co. The family will receive friends following the service until 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent dePaul Church with Monsignor William Pharr celebrant. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent dePaul Building Fund, 6828 Old Reid Road, Charlotte, NC 28210 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Harry & Bryant Company is serving the family of Mr. Tobin.
