DAVID ALEXANDER
Dr. David B. Alexander passed away May 23, 2013, in Vancouver, WA, with his wife and their son by his side. David was born January 19, 1957, and raised in El Paso, TX, graduating from Coronado High School in 1975. He earned a B.S. degree ('79) and an M.S. ('83),
both from UTEP. His PhD in Soil Science was awarded in 1987 from Texas A&M University. In the late 1970s he was a youth minister at Western Hills Methodist Church. David moved to Oregon in 1990 and joined the Biology faculty at the University of Portland in
1995, where he was recently recognized for his work as the Health Professions Advisor. David is survived by his wife, Paula Tower; son, Kevin Alexander: father, Harold Alexander; brother, Hal Alexander; and niece, Allyson Frantz; predeceased by his mother,
Elizabeth Rowe Alexander; brother, Byron Alexander. A memorial service in his honor will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, in the Chapel of Christ the Teacher on the University of Portland campus. Contributions may be made to CaringBridge or your
