Jill Corrine Sawyer (nee Tesheneck), 42, passed away April 13, 2013. She was a resident of Mesquite, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe Sawyer.
She is survived by her parents Andy and Connie Tesheneck of Whitney, TX and White Lake, WI; sister Terrie Wendel and brother-in-law Chris Wendel and their children nephew Andrew and niece Emma; and step-son Joseph.
Jill attended Ashwaubenon, WI schools grades K through 10. She graduated from Plano East High School class of 1988. She received her Bachelor’s in Genetics from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, class of 1993 and her Master’s in Genetic Counseling from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX, in 1995. Jill and Joe were married in Bryan, TX on July 31, 1993. Jill spent most of her career as a Genetic Councilor in the Dallas area.
She had many hobbies including sewing, reading, swimming, cooking and crafts. She will be remembered for her generous giving heart. She was always there with a note, gift or baked goods to make you feel special.

Jill was not ill with cancer but it touched her life. She was interested in cancer research and fundraising. She was involved in research through her studies at the University of Texas Health Science Center and then later her work. She participated in a three-day walk to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. Her own efforts netted several thousand dollars. In 2012 Jill lost her husband Joe to bladder cancer.
