Barden E. "Bud" Patterson, D.D.S.
(March 7, 1934 - April 11, 2013)

Barden E. "Bud" Patterson, D.D.S., age 79, went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 11, 2013, after a short and courageous battle with lung cancer.

Bud was born in Addington, Oklahoma, March 7, 1934, to the late Barden Finley and Stella Spain Patterson. He grew up in Groom, Texas, where he graduated valedictorian from Groom High School. He attended Texas A&M University, where he received his Bachelor of Science. Bud continued his education at the University of Texas Dental School, where he received his MS in Physiology and DDS. He served as a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. After his service, he returned to Houston and the University of Texas Dental School, and ultimately became the first Board Certified Endodontist. Bud practiced endodontics in Houston for 27 years. Bud was a member of the Texas Society of the Sons of American Revolution Alexander Hodge Chapter. He was an active member of Second Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher/director.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Herrin Patterson, and their two children, daughter, Jan Patterson Cameron, and son, Barden Todd Patterson. He is also survived by his three granddaughters, Kyrie Cameron, Darian Patterson, and Emily Patterson.

Visitation will be held at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 4th Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471, on Sunday, April 14, 2013, from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 15, 2013, at Second Baptist Church West Campus, 19449 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77094.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Boys and Girls Country of Houston, 18806 Roberts Road, Hockley, Texas 77447.
