Kim and Judy Hammond
KIM HAMMOND AND JUDY HAMMOND, both longtime residents of Irving, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 in Cleburne, Texas.

Kim was born November 24, 1945 in Abilene, Texas to Hood Clyde and Sara Frances Ray Hammond, he was a Texas A&M graduate with a Bachelor of Sociology degree. Judy was born September 15, 1950 in Dallas, Texas to James William and Virginia Lee Martin Prier, she attended Southwest Texas University in San Marcos.

Kim and Judy married September 13, 1969 in Irving. They both were members of the First United Methodist Church in Irving for more than 20 years. Kim retired from the Dallas Police Department in 2004 after working 32 years and earning 54 commendations, many for professionalism and outstanding job performance. Judy retired in 2005 as the secretary for the athletic department in the Irving school district after 27 years of service.

Survivors include their children, Kimberlee Hughes and husband Chris, Troy Hammond and wife Carrie, Trent Hammond and wife Amy; grandchildren, Blake Hughes, Dalton Hughes, Tory Hammond, Allie Hammond, Braden Hammond, Jayme Hammond and Connor Hammond; nieces and nephews, Chip & Christina Rovello, Jonathan Rovello, Brett and Anna Caswell and Trey and Liz Caswell. Kim is also survived by his sister, Sheron Allen and husband John. Judy’s survivors also include her sister, Jeni Rovello and husband Charles.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Service 12 noon, Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church, 211 West 3rd Street, with Rev. Rusty Hedges officiating. Interment 3:00 p.m., Tuesday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane A.
