Gregory Morrison
Gregory Spencer Morrison, 68, of Houston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday May 30, 2012. Greg was born August 9, 1943 in Houston to J.D. and Waccile Morrison. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his
loving wife of 44 years, Shirley Morrison; sons, Michael Allen Morrison & wife Lisa, John Joseph Morrison & wife Melanie; grandchildren, Caroline, Renzo and Ellie; sister, Susan Stromatt and brother, Thomas Morrison & wife Marnie as well as numerous nieces,
nephews, and extended family.
Greg graduated from Midland High School, in Midland Texas, in 1961. He graduated from Texas A&M University, class of 1965. He worked in the oil & gas industry for such prestigious firms as Armco Steel Corp., National Supply, and National Oilwell, where he retired
after 32 years of service. Greg enjoyed woodworking, designing clocks and birdfeeders, and his dog, Anabel. Throughout his life, Greg always enjoyed telling jokes and sharing stories with his many friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and
loved being with his family. The Morrisons would like to thank the nursing staff at West Houston Medical Center & VITAS Hospice for the special care given to Greg during his brief illness.
The Morrison family will receive friends Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 PM with a Vigil service beginning at 7:00 PM at D.M. Dettling Funeral Directors, 14094 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77079. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 6,
2012 at 10:30 AM in the chapel of D.M. Dettling Funeral Directors. A reception will follow the service in the Grand Room. A private burial service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery that same day. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions
