R. B. "Brad" Holmes Jr.
October 6, 1926 - October 10, 2010

Funeral services for Brad Holmes, 84, of Henderson, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ricky Ricks and Kyle Holmes officiating under the direction of Crawford-A.Crim Funeral Home in Henderson.

Mr. Holmes died Oct. 10, 2010, at ETMC Henderson. He was born Oct. 6, 1926, in Grand Rapids, Mich. He was an architectural engineer and was also retired from Bank of America. Mr. Holmes was a member of First United Methodist Church where he served as an office angel. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club for over 50 years, and may best be known for his Hats and Harmonica performances. Mr. Holmes served as past Chairman of the Board for Henderson Memorial Hospital, and he was a former mayor of Henderson. He also served his country and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp and was awarded a good conduct and victory medal upon the end of his service.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Richard Bradford Holmes, Sr, and Irma Holmes.

Survivors include: wife, Mary Beth Holmes of Henderson; son, Kyle Holmes and wife Julie of Bedford and step-sons, Frank Willis and John Willis of Tyler; daughter, Tere Holmes of Austin; brother, Lowell Holmes and wife Sandy of Harlingen; sister, Richie Solether and husband Tommy of Hawaii; grandson, Andrew Holmes of Bedford; granddaughters, Megan Holmes of Austin and Crystal Turnbow and husband Chris of Tyler; and two
great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Terry Tyson, Buzz Fullen, Micheal Jimerson, Denzel Mobbs, Hollis Yates and Irvin Daughtery. Honorary pallbearers will be Kiwanis Club members and the Men's Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church at 204 North Marshall, Henderson, TX 75652.
