Harvey Elwood Elkins

Memorial services for Harvey Elwood Elkins, age 90, formerly of Irving, TX, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, August 22, 2011 at Hillcrest Church of Christ in Gainesville, TX with Rev. Robert Graf officiating. Mr. Elkins passed peacefully away on August
15, 2011, after a bout with severe heat exhaustion while actively engaging in physical therapy in his home in Sulphur Springs, TX. He was born of October 14, 1920, in Gainesville, TX, the son of George W. and Agnes Altum Elkins. Harvey served in WWII as a
flight engineer on B26 in Europe and a part of the occupation forces after. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1951 and was known in Dallas as respected architect and avid scout leader.
He is survived by two sons, Mike and Lysa Elkins of Sulphur Springs, TX, and Scott and Trisha Elkins of Owings, MD, 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and beloved sister, Wanda Britton of Gainesville, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred
K. Elkins on August 16, 2004, parents, and sisters.
