Harold Bruce Beckham
Harold Bruce Beckham, devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, born March 5, 1931 in Manor, TX entered into rest on July 1, 2004 at the age of 73 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Beckham was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph and parents,
Raymond John and Allie Newton Beckham. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lucille E. Beckham; son, Bruce Wayne Beckham; daughter, Brenda Sue Kirkpatrick; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Beckham; sons-in-law, Dennis Kirkpatrick and Tony Byron; grandchildren,
Anthony Byron, III, Rebecca Beckham, Jonathan Beckham, Brian Kirkpatrick and Alice Kirkpatrick.
He was employed by City Public Service Board and retired in 1993 as a General Foreman in the Gas Department after 35 years of service. He served his country with honor as the First Sergeant of the 321st Civil Affairs Group of the Army Reserves for over 22 years,
retiring in 1972. His family was proud of his accomplishments as a volunteer in both coaching and leadership positions with Pop Warner Football and Little League Baseball. Mr. Beckham served as the Head Coach of the Town East Optimist Pop Warner Midget Team,
winning the League Championship, City Championship and Bowl Championship in 1972. He served on the Board of Directors of Perrin Beitel Little League and was elected President in 1975.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 4, 2004 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 5, 2004 at 9:00 A.M. at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
