Anthony Randolph Anthony "T.R." Randolph Jr., 41, of Maryland, died November 29 of natural causes. T.R. was born in Baltimore on September 11, 1970. He received a B.S. in Neuroscience and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh. He earned a Master's Degree in Nautical Archaeology from Texas A & M University. T.R. was employed at R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates from 1994-1999 and 2005-2006. He worked as a conservator and graduate assistant at Texas A & M University from 1999-2002. He served as a conservator of the USS Monitor, at the Mariners' Museum in Newport News, VA, from 2004-2005. T.R. worked at URS Corporation as a Senior Archaeologist and Senior Archaeological Conservator since 2006. T.R. had more than 17 years of experience in terrestrial and maritime cultural resources management and archaeological research in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions of the United States, the Caribbean, Iberia, the Azores Islands, and Azerbaijan. He was fluent in several languages and had extensive experience in marine remote sensing surveys and analysis, artifact conservation, technical report writing, research design development, and technical SCUBA and enclosed helmet diving. He directed projects on prehistoric, historic, and maritime sites throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Vieques Island, Culebra Island, Turkey, Portugal, Spain, and the Azores Islands.

T.R. enjoyed many hobbies and had a variety of interests including animals, cooking, antiques, map collecting, travel, fishing, music, photography, movies, bonfires, comic books, puppets, and Star Wars. He also had a great love for the sea and an extreme kindness toward others. While his greatest love was for his family, T.R. was especially looking forward to the birth of his first child, a son.

T.R. was pre-deceased by his sister, Katherine Randolph White. He is survived by his wife, Amy Benson, and his mother, Rebecca Young Randolph. T.R. is the father of a baby son, expected in March of 2012. T.R. is also survived by his parents-in-law, Karen and George Benson, 11 aunts and uncles, 41 cousins, a
sister-in-law, and a young niece

T.R.'s memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on December 17 at Indian Creek School, 680 Evergreen Road, Crownsville.
