Charles Lewis Cadenhead, Jr. was born in Teague, Texas on January 11, 1948 to Charles Lewis, Sr. and Maggie Jo (Flanagan) Cadenhead. He was raised in Buffalo and was a graduate of Buffalo High School and the Texas A&M University Class of 1970. He owned and operated Cadenhead Feed and Fertilizer from 1970 to 1984, which had been a family business since the 1940’s. Mr. Cadenhead was the CEO of Citizens State Bank in Buffalo from the mid 1980’s to the mid 1990’s and a past president of the Buffalo ISD school board. He was currently the owner and President of the Oakwood State Bank in Oakwood, Texas. Mr. Cadenhead also owned the Cadenhead Land and Cattle Company in Buffalo which was started by his parents. He enjoyed reading, deer hunting, attending all ball games, especially Texas A&M games. Most of all, he enjoyed his grandchildren very much. Mr. Cadenhead passed away on November14, 2011 in Buffalo, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Jimmie Cadenhead.

Surviving family includes wife, Dorothy Cadenhead of Buffalo; son and daughter-in-law, Trey & LaNei Cadenhead of Buffalo; daughter, Susan Shelton of Buffalo; step-sons, Casey & Chris Privette of Buffalo; sister, Nell Murphy & husband, Claude of Buffalo; grandchildren, Layne & Taylor Shelton of Buffalo and Maddy & Jake Cadenhead of Buffalo; niece, Dana Moris of Buffalo; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Margie & John Morris of Buffalo and brothers-in-law & sisters-in law, David & Bonnie Morris and their children, Kayla & Rachel of Buffalo and Wayne & Eileen Byrd and their children, Mark & Stephanie of Tennessee Colony

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church in Buffalo, Texas. Rev. Ralph Hale and Rev. Kevin Gilmore will officiate and interment will be in the Buffalo Cemetery. Walters Buffalo Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home.
