RICHTER Thomas Henry Richter, 60, a lifetime resident of San Antonio, died Saturday, March 26, 2011, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on August 16, 1950 in Angleton, Texas, the son of Charles Vincent Richter and Rosalie Flory Richter. The family moved to San Antonio where Tom attended St. Luke's Catholic School and graduated from Antonian College Preparatory in 1968. Tom earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University in 1972, where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets and the Ross Volunteers, before being commissioned in the U.S. Army.

He began his Public Accounting career with Ernst & Young, and retired as a partner in 2009 after a distinguished career of 37 years. Additionally, he was an active board member of the Billing Services Group. He was a past board member of the St. Mary's Forum on Entrepreneurship, the University of the Incarnate Word Development Board, Santa Rosa Children's Hospital Foundation, the Junior Achievement of South Texas and a past Trustee of the Endowment Fund for the Children's Hospital.

Tom was preceded in death by his infant son, Thomas Hunter Richter, and his father. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Jerrianne Biry Richter; daughters Megan Richter, Marcianne Richter Mendoza and husband Randall P. Mendoza II; and son, Matthew Richter and wife Rachel Flaugher Richter, all of San Antonio. He is also survived by his mother, Rosalie Richter; and brother, John R. Richter and wife Mary; as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephews and sister- and brother-in-law.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 30, from 6:00-7:00 P.M., at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Interment with military honors will be in Hondo Cemetery, Hondo, Texas. Pallbearers will be Mike Weynand, Al Haegelin, Larry Ohls, Tommy Hewitt, Tommy Wendel, Chris Hopmann; and honorary pallbearers will be Norman Phipps, Houston Bryan, Chris Williford, Jeff Kuhn, Bill Burnett, and Jay Bielke.

The family requests that memorials be made to Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, 1400 TAMU, College Station,
Texas 77843-1400; Thrivewell Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 29331, San Antonio, Texas 78229; or Odyssey Hospice Care, 13431 Blanco Road, San Antonio, Texas 78216.
