Michael Marlow
Michael M. Marlow, of Fredericksburg, died on February 5, 2011, at the age of 69. He was born in Houston on September 12, 1941 to the late Addicks Ransom and Helen Engle Marlow, formerly of San Antonio.

Michael graduated from St. Thomas H.S. in Houston and Texas A&M University in 1964, where he was Head Yell Leader, a Ross Volunteer and a proud member of the Corps of Cadets. He served as an officer in the Army and in Viet Nam as a reconnaissance pilot. He attained the rank of Captain and decorations included the Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal with eight clusters and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.

Michael was also very active in youth and high school soccer for over 20 years as a referee and referee instructor.

After a 17-year career in sales and management with IBM, he held executive positions in several other corporations before relocating to Fredericksburg in 1999.

His family includes his high school sweetheart, and wife, of 46 years, Kathleen Quinn Marlow; son, Kevin M. Marlow and wife Diane, of San Marcos, and daughter, Kelli M. Winkler and husband Marc, of Richardson and two grandsons, Michael and Garrett Winkler. Siblings are his brothers, Rev. A.R. Marlow, Jr. S.J., Richard P. Marlow (both deceased), Frank R. Marlow, of Dallas and his sister, Therese Walker, of Colorado Springs.

A memorial Mass is scheduled for St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, TX on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Monsignor Enda McKenna officiating. A reception to celebrate his life will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers, Mike wished that any donations be made to The Texas A&M Foundation, 401 George Bush Dr., College Station, TX 77840-2811, 800/392-3310. Donations should be specified for Class of ’64 Gift Fund in memory of Mike Marlow.
