Curtis Harvey Lemons entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 21, 2011 with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Betty Lumbley Lemons. Loving father of Judith Lemons Hudson and husband Robert of Sacramento, CA and Papa to Lennon Hudson. Stepfather
of Priscilla W. Grundmeyer and husband Wayne and Sheila W. Morales. Step-grandfather of Mandy G. Daigle and husband Tommy, and Blake E. Lawson and wife Nicole. Pops to Cameron and Chelsey Daigle. Preceded in death by his first wife Ollie Mae Lemons. Son of
the late John Ray Lemons, Sr. and Eddie Lee Pierson Lemons. Brother of Ray Lemons and wife Jean, and Juanita Gladden and husband Frank. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will cherish his memory always.
Curtis was born in Dallas, TX on November 12, 1927. He graduated in 1954 from Texas A&M as a petroleum engineer and moved to South Louisiana to work for Conoco. He supervised the drilling of the first well in the North Sea, and resided in London, Germany, Jakarta,
Indonesia, and then Belle Chasse, LA where he retired in 1985 after 30 years with Conoco.
He was a veteran of the Army and United States Air Force, and was stationed in France. Member of Texas A&M University Country Club, Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, American Institute of Mining Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers, Delta Chapter
of the American Petroleum Institute, and the New Orleans Golf Association. He was an Eagle Scout and pitched Softball for Texas A&M and Conoco. Member of Aurora United Methodist Church for 35 years and Friendship Class, and most recently Belle Chasse United
Methodist Church.
Relatives and Friends of the Family, also members of the afore mentioned groups are invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 1 PM. Interment will follow in Westlawn
Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 10 AM until funeral time. Special thanks to the staff of My Hospice, especially Drew, and sitters Tanya, and Esperanza for their care during his final days. "He fought the good fight.
