Craig Eschberger
Craig Eschberger, 58, of Midland passed away on January 1, 2011 at Midland Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 10:00 am at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive visitors Tuesday 6:30-8:30pm at the family residence.
Craig was born on June 26, 1952 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Lamar and Nell Ruth Eschberger and grew up in Midland where he attended schools and graduated from Midland High School. Craig graduated from Texas A&M University in 1977 with a degree in Geology. He began his career in geology with Gulf Oil Corp. in West Texas, and later began working as an environmental geologist. Throughout the past 20 years, Craig worked as an environmental geologist and was employed with Nova Safety and Environmental.
In his younger years he was very involved in coaching both of his sons in Little League baseball. Craig loved remodeling and the re-design of homes as well as rebuilding muscle cars with friends and family. Craig also especially loved the great outdoors and road trips as he ventured at various times from Colorado, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, and Lynchburg, Tennessee.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Eschberger of Midland, son Sean Eschberger and wife Jennifer of Grapevine, son Eric Eschberger of Austin, sister Ann Ritchie and husband James (Bucky) of Midland, and three grandchildren, Gracey Eschberger, Ben Eschberger, and Berkley Bayer-Eschberger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nell Ruth and Lamar Eschberger and his brother, Mark Eschberger.
Honorary pallbearers include James Connally, Jim Dowling, Marty Renz, Doug James, Bryan Sheffield, and Becky Haskell. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences can be made at www. npwelch.com
