Lawrence Nelson Bourn

Lawrence "Nelson" Bourn went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2011. He was born in Pampa, Texas on January 4, 1935 to Lawrence Ludwin "Bill" Bourn and Birdean Nelson Bourn. He was married on
December 14, 1957 to Shanna Chewning in Amarillo, Texas. He is survived by his wife Shanna, daughters Denise Davis and her husband Del, Becky Latta and her husband Mike, son Kyle Bourn and his wife Stephanie, grandchildren Jeremy Eder, Sarah Paredes, Caitlin Eder, Kayla Ball, Zachary Eder, Kelli Atkinson, Brady Atkinson, Blaine Bourn, Trevor Latta, Graham Bourn, sisters Nancy Walker and her
husband Dwayne, Peggy Dicken and her husband Buzz and numerous other relatives and loved ones.

Nelson obtained his B.S. in marketing from Texas A&M in 1957 and his MBA from West Texas State in 1968. He was a retired Major from the United States Air Force. He retired from Eastman Kodak after 25 years of service in 1988. He went on to work with MicroImages until his retirement with them in 2000. During the past several years, he had been working with his son at Southwest Document Solutions. He was an elder at Braeburn Presbyterian Church in Houston, Texas; a deacon at First Baptist Church in Onalaska, Texas; and was currently serving as a deacon at Second Baptist Church-West Campus in Katy, Texas. Nelson, or Dad, as he was affectionately known to most, loved the Lord, his "angel" partner Shanna and was happiest when he was with his children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made in his honor to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
