Stephen James Riedl 41, of Plano, TX, formerly of Indianapolis, IN, passed away September 3, 2010. He was born on June 6, 1969 in Indianapolis, IN to Gayle James and Patricia (Browder) Riedl. Stephen was a graduate of North Central High School. He received his undergraduate degree in engineering from Purdue University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He received his Master's Degree in oceanic engineering from Texas A&M. Stephen excelled in swimming and was an avid bicycler. He was a member of GS Tenzing Bicycle Racing Team and the Plano Bicycle Association.
Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Gayle James Riedl. He is survived by wife, Nancy (Wolff) Riedl; mother, Patricia (Browder) Riedl; sister, Kimberly Greiner (Gregg); nephew, Dakota James Greiner; uncle, George 'Buzzy' Browder (Karla); aunts, Ladonna Tydlacka and June Browder; cousin, Chris Browder.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Custer Road United Methodist Church in Plano, TX. Immediately following the memorial service will be a celebration of Stephen's life. In lieu of flowers or similar tributes, please consider a donation to The University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer
