Funeral home obituary Obituary for James Hillary Sandlin Jr James H. Sandlin Jr. age 80 passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010 in Baytown. He was born July 25, 1929 in Katy, Texas the son of the late James H. Sandlin Sr. and Minna 'Elles' Frese. James was a graduate of Texas A & M with a degree in business. James enjoyed wood working and spending time outside. He retired as a Chambers County Sanitarian, working previously for Baylor College as a recruiter, Texas Employment commission as well as was a rice farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Patricia Pennington, and a grandson Richard H. Boggs. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Evelyn Sandlin of Anahuac, daughters Annaleisa Boggs and her husband Don of Mt. Pleasant, Allison Kelly and her husband Mike of Austin, son Oliver Sandlin and wife Lynda of Austin, sister Marie Ashby and husband Bill of Woodlands, brother Joe Sandlin and wife Rita of Anahuac. In addition he leaves six grandchildren, Sarah Boggs, Bryan Boggs, Joe Boggs and wife Sheila, Logan LaValley, Madelyn Sandlin, and Charles Sandlin. Visitation will be held Monday, June 14, 2010 from 6-9 P.M. at Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 South Main, Anahuac, Texas. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Anahuac at two o'clock in the afternoon, burial to follow in Anahuac Cemetery.
