Roll Call Tribute

Dirk van Reenen, 58, of Norcross, GA, died May 29, 2006. Dirk worked 33 years for QORE Property Sciences, formerly Atlanta Testing & Engineering. He served in various management and technical roles including Atlanta Branch Manager, Regional Manager of Florida, Corporate Director of Engineering, and Corporate Chief Executive Officer of QORE Property Sciences. He was a Board Member of American Consulting Engineer Council of Georgia and an active member of A.S.F.E.  Dirk was also an avid tennis player.   He received his Master of Science, Civil Engineering (Geotechnical), from Texas A&M University, 1971, and his Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering, Lamar University, 1970.

Preceded in death by his parents, Willem Jan van Reenen and Elizabeth van Reenen Shoemaker, he is survived by his wife, Janie van Reenen of Norcross, GA; daughters, Andrea van Reenen Powell, and her husband, Kevin Powell, of Birmingham, AL, and Erika Lynn van Reenen of Chamblee, GA; brother, Willem Jan van Reenen, and his wife, Sandra van Reenen of Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren, Ansley Powell and Avery Powell; mother-in-law, Mary Jane Smith; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.  For those desiring, contributions may be sent to: The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University, website: www.cancer.duke.edu/btc.
