John W. Evans
EVANS, JOHN W. , Born Jan. 1, l922, and passed Sept. 19, 2005. John survived the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on the USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor. Despite humble beginnings, John earned an M.S. degree from Texas A&M and became a successful businessman as owner of the
Aggie Feed Store in Dallas. He devoted many years to public service, including terms on the Dallas City Council where he served as mayor pro tem, Circle Ten Council of the Boy Scouts of America, North Texas COG, Gold Cross Foundation of Methodist Hospital,
and numerous committees and other organizations. John was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Dallas. Survived by wife Ruth Evans; son Danny Neill; son John D. Evans and wife Robbie of Millsap, Tx.; daughter Mary Tooley of Rowlett, Tx.; daughter
Debbie Gallimore and husband Doug of Carrollton, Tx.; daughter Janet McCalip and husband Wes of Bacliff, Tx.; daughter Becky Nanny and husband Rob of Dallas. Grandchildren John Alan, Jennifer, and Jamie Evans; Vivian Tooley; Douglas, Heath, Clinton, Rachel,
and Aaron Gallimore; Joy Davis, Jessica Salas, and Christopher McCalip; Kristin and RJ Nanny. Great grandchildren: Zoe and John Grayson Evans; Megan, Alex, and Luke Gallimore; Austin, Jacob, and Cooper Gallimore; Sebastian Gallimore. Visitation will be held
from 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, September 22 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will be at DFW National Cemetery in a private family ceremony on Friday, September 23. A celebration of Johns life will be held at noon on Friday, September 23, at the First
