The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and the Young Professionals of Greater Lubbock recently announced the 20 Under 40 award recipients for 2013. Eddie McBride, president of the chamber (and Class of '75), said the group of promising young professionals will
be honored at a special event on May 30. The awards not only recognize the recipients, but also showcase the young professionals group, he added.
“The 20 Under 40 awards opportunity gives a chance for us through the young professionals organization to recognize 20 of our best and brightest and fast-achieving young professionals in our community,” he said.
McBride said it’s important to Lubbock’s business community and chamber to recognize the young people’s roles in growing the city. “(The community gains) pride and recognition in knowing we have excellent future with leaders already leading in the community,”
he said.
Because of a tie in the voting, 21 people will be honored this year.
