Roll Call Tribute

Jason L. Hightower '93, 37, of Winnsboro died March 20, 2009, in Mexico while seeking experimental treatment to help dissolve his brain tumors. He was part of the Jason and Roy Morning Show on KORA-FM in Bryan in the early 1990s. He moved to East Texas in the late 1990s and bought KMOO-FM in Mineola in 1998, and later as Hightower Radio Inc., bought KNET-AM and KYYK-FM in Palestine. He was chairman of Texas Association of Broadcasters. He received Mineola's Chamber of Commerce 2009 Humanitarian of the Year Award. Survivors include his wife, Ingrid; two sons; a daughter; his parents; a sister; a grandfather; and his grandmothers.
