CASTULA O. GUERRA (TATI)
WESLACO - Castula O. Guerra (Tati), 47, entered eternal rest with our Lord on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. Tati was born January 3, 1963 in Weslaco, TX to Mr. and Mrs. Teofilo and Castula Ozuna. Tati grew up in Edcouch, TX. She obtained her high school degree from Edcouch-Elsa High School in 1981, her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX in 1989, and her master's degree from The University of Texas-Pan American in 2005. For most of her career she worked at JFK Elementary School as a school teacher and later as a librarian for JFK Elementary and David Ybarra Middle School. Tati was a very loving and caring mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Her favorite hobby was spending time with her family and friends. Tati was full of kindness for everyone and always consciously did the right thing for herself while helping others. It is said that God didn't create us perfect but he came very close when he created Tati.
She is preceded in death by her father, Teofilo Ozuna Sr. and is survived by her husband, Rolando Guerra; daughter, Lisa H. Guerra; her mother, Castula Ozuna; four brothers, Teofilo Ozuna Jr., Baldomero Ozuna, Carlos Ozuna and Miguel Ozuna; three sisters, Juanita Caceres, Virginia Gonzalez, and Belinda Dominguez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A public viewing was held on Friday, April 2, 2010 from 12 noon to 8 p.m. at the Edcouch-Elsa High School Gym and the Devine Mercy Chaplet was prayed at 7 p.m. today, Saturday, April 3, 2010, a public viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and a rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. at Guerra Funeral Home of Elsa, TX. Tomorrow, Sunday, April 4, 2010, a public viewing will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. and a rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. at Guerra Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 5, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Elsa, TX. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park of Weslaco.
