Jim Holloway
May 24, 1929 - February 22, 2010

James "Jim" Holloway was born May 24, 1929, in Haslet, Texas, the son of Charles "Ed" and Eva Holloway. He graduated from Courtney High School in Martin County, Texas. Jim then married Billie Glaze on January 14, 1950. He served 4 years in the United States Army. Jim graduated from Texas A&M University in May of 1960. He was then employed by the First Bank and Trust in Bryan, Texas, then went on to serve at several other financial institutions. Jim retired from Bill Johnson Real Estate in 2006. Jim was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and served many years as a committee man. He was well-known in Austin County for his participation in local cook-offs. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jim passed away Monday, February 22, 2010, in Bellville, surrounded by his family, at the age of 80. He is survived by his LOVING WIFE OF OVER 60 YEARS: Billie (Bill) Holloway, of Bellville; CHILDREN; Kyle Holloway and his wife Peggy, of Bellville and Wade Holloway; GRANDCHILDREN: Dwayne Holloway and his wife, Jennifer, April Bebee, Shawn Holloway and his wife, Stephanie, Chad Holloway and his wife, Kayce, Cord Holloway Boyette, Tye Holloway, Shelby Holloway and 6 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. He is also survived by his BROTHER: Gene Holloway and his wife, Pat; SISTERS: Joy Powell, Phyllis Blanton, Nancy Duncan and her husband, Clindl and numerous nieces, nephews, family and dear friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Virgil Holloway and Kenneth Lee Holloway and niece, Lori Susan Holloway. The family would like to thank all the caregivers from Bellville General Hospital and Colonial Belle Nursing Home for all their love and care.
