George "Woolley" Noyes '41 January 31, 2007 12:00 AM

George W. Noyes'41, 87, of Houston died January 22, 2007. He was a captain in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II in England, North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He joined Humble Oil (later Exxon) in 1946 and later started George Noyes & Associates. He taught electrical engineering at the University of Houston and continued as a consultant until he retired at the age of 72. He was a professional engineer. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jeanne; two sons, Thomas E. Noyes '67 and Daniel G. Noyes '76; a daughter, Cynthia J. Noyes '81; and four grandchildren, including R. Maverick Welsh III '96 and Patrick D. Noyes '99.
