Johnny Gimarc '50 January 3, 2008 12:00 AM

Johnny D. Gimarc '50, 78, of Holly Lake Ranch died Oct. 31, 2007. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Germany. He was a civil engineer and construction superintendent for more than 20 years, supervising the construction of hospitals and office buildings in California, Texas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. He was a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas. He received the Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver award. He was executive officer of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band and a member of the Ross Volunteers at Texas A&M. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; five sons, including J. Alex Gimarc '73 and Charles E. Gimarc '75; nine grandchildren, including David C. Gimarc '09; six great-grandchildren; and a brother.
