Dr. Charles Roy Stevens
ATHENS - Memorial services for Dr. Charles Roy Stevens, Houston, formerly of Tyler, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Earthman Funeral Directors-Hunter's Creek in Houston.
Inurnment will be in Houston National Cemetery.
Dr. Stevens died Dec. 10, 2008, at his residence.
He was born and graduated in 1941 from high school in Athens. He served in the Navy during World War II. He graduated in 1951 from Texas A&M University and in 1960 from University of Texas John Sealy Medical School. He practiced family medicine in Alvin for
several years and then attended University of Texas John Sealy School to obtain his psychiatry specialty. He was a member of several medical and service organizations and Alumni Association of Texas A&M.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Mary S. Bellar and Charles Andrew Stevens; sisters, Marion Lawrence and Martha Williams; brother, Jasper Stevens; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Charles R. Stevens '51, 86, of Houston (formerly of Athens) died Dec. 10, 2008. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He graduated from the University of Texas Medical School - John Sealy Hospital in Galveston in 1960. He practiced family medicine
in Alvin for several years before returning to the University of Texas Medical School to obtain his psychiatry specialty. Survivors include his wife, Pat; a son; a daughter; two grandchildren; a brother, Jasper J. Stevens '58; and two sisters.
