Roll Call Tribute

Fernando F. Zuniga '47, 82, of Laredo died Jan. 24, 2009. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He formed F. Zuniga Inc. & Diamond Distribution in 1976 among other business interests. His honors include being named Chamber of Commerce Businessman of the Year and being inducted into the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame, both in 2002. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Josephine; two sons, Fernando F. Zuniga III '76 and Federico C. Zuniga '79; two daughters, including Lisa Zuniga Martinez '85; nine grandchildren; four brothers, including Carlos A. Zuniga '49; and a sister.
