Terry W. Lamkin '58, 72, of Ennis (formerly of Brownwood) died March 1, 2009. He served in the U.S. Army Chemical Corps and in the U.S. Army Reserve. He worked for Fritz W. Glick Co. of Dallas from 1959 to 1962. He was then self- employed and took ownership of the Welch Manufacturing and Engineering Co. and relocated to Phoenix for a year before moving the company to Brownwood. He worked at Agriculture Chemical Equipment Co. of Dallas from 1965 to 1970. He moved to Ennis and worked nearly 17 years with A. Gunthard & Co., eventually becoming part owner and president of the company. The partners sold the company in 1986 but he continued to work for the company for two years before retiring. He worked for Prentex Alloy Fabrications, Inc. of Dallas from 1989 until he retired again in 2004. He was an original organizer and charter member of the Ennis A&M Club. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary Ann; two daughters, including Jeannette Lamkin Wilson '85; three grandchildren, including Christopher L. Wilson '11; and a brother, Jack T. Lamkin, Jr. '57.
