Gwendolyn (Wendy) Foote (Class of '75)is graduating from Oglala Lakota College in South Dakota, June 2005, Certified in Elementary Education/Grades 5-8 in Science and Math/ SpEd K-12 Specialty. Gwen has been teaching science and math in general classroom and accelerated programs. She is presently teaching INMED Honors Program ("Indians in Medicine") to high school students on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. She is emphasizing Biomedical Science and Medical Technology as taught at Texas A&M University. This year, Gwen wrote grants to access funds for science programs, including Toshiba, SEMAA, and NASA. She wrote a grant that NASA Explorer Schools awarded to the first school in South Dakota. Gwen Foote was recognized by "Who's Who of American Women" in 2005 and nominated for "Who's Who in American Education.
