Lawrence Brozak "Larry" Sullivan
August 25, 1937 - December 28, 2025
Lawrence B. (Larry) Sullivan passed away on December 28, 2025 at his home in McKinney, Texas. He was born on August 25, 1937 to Alva and Samuel Brozak and spent his early years in Washington, D.C., Gary, Indiana and Wichita Falls, Texas.
Larry was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University where he earned a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and, later in life, although he preferred to identify as an Aggie, graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He spent his life working as a mechanical engineer for General Electric, Texas Instruments and ARCO. He was instrumental in developing oil exploration technology and was granted numerous patents for those inventions.
A firm believer in giving back to his community, Larry was an active volunteer at Medical City Plano and delivered meals for Collin County Meals on Wheels.
Larry fulfilled a lifelong desire to learn to play the banjo and was a member of the Dallas Banjo Band. He enjoyed the friendship of his bandmates and singing and playing the banjo at different venues.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Brozak, the adoptive father who raised him, John V. Sullivan, and by his mother, Alva Sullivan. He is survived by his wife, Patricia and her son, his daughter, Cynthia and her husband Pat, his son Lawrence Jr. and his wife, Reko and granddaughters Samantha and Sabrina.
The funeral service will be held at Restland Funeral Home in the Wildwood Chapel on January 6, 2026 at 2:00 pm with interment to follow.
