James Albert "Jim" Earl, III, Maj. USAF (Ret)
November 5, 1931 - March 7, 2026
James A. Earl, III (Jim) 94, of San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 5, 1931, in San Antonio, Jim was a devoted husband, loving father and cherished grandfather.
An Eagle Scout, Texas A&M graduate, and U.S. Air Force fighter pilot rising to the rank of Major, he was the steadfast mentor and the glue that held generations of his family together.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Messina and Martha Cain, his son James A. Earl IV, four grandchildren Michele Miller, Robert Miller (Laura), Sunny Perez (Kenon) and Dylan Larson (Savannah), seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Bettye Alren Earl, parents James Albert Earl Jr. and Helen Edythe Earl, brother Michael Raymond Earl and wife Priscilla Earl.
A military service will be held at 1:30 PM on March 24, 2026 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
