James Samuel "Jim" Milligan
January 25, 1933 - October 1, 2025
James was born in Sealy Hospital, Santa Anna, TX, to Douglas Stewardson Milligan and Nita Woolverton Milligan.
He loved the Lord and his family fiercely, as well as Texas A&M University, from where he graduated in 1954.
He is survived by his wife Nora Leverett Milligan whom he married June 5, 1954. They were blessed with two daughters who also survive, Julia and Lori, and their respective husbands, Bill Parker and Tim Cassidy. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Meredith, and her daughter, Lea Hartung and her family.
While at A&M, he received many honors and awards, as well as commanding a cadet squadron.
He proudly served in the US Air Force where he was a pilot and was Honorably Discharged. He loved his country and career, never thinking of it as work.
He retired as Western Region Well Log Analyst in 1989 from Amoco Production Company in Denver, CO. That same year they moved to Pecan Plantation in Granbury where he and Nora resided for 32 1/2 years before moving to a gated retirement community.
He passed away October 1, 2025 in the local hospital after a brief illness. No services are planned. Special thanks to his many caregivers at Granbury Rehab and Nursing. Memorial donations may be made to Friends for Animals in Granbury.
