William Allen "Bill" Bacon

June 5, 1959 - September 7, 2025

William (“Bill”) Allen Bacon, 66, of Isabella, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Bill was born in Jacksonville, Florida, the first child of parents William J. Bacon and Eleanor (Ward) Bacon on June 5, 1959. He spent most of his childhood in Spring, Texas, graduating from Klein High School in 1977. He received his degree in electrical engineering from Texas A & M University in 1981. He spent his career in the electrical engineering field, working for notable companies such as Motorola, Texas Instruments, Intel, and Apple. In 1997, he and colleagues invented a phase-locked loop circuit to function across multiple frequency bands, a critical innovation to advance the growing mobile phone industry.

He married Terrie (“Penny”) Traylor, the love of his life, in 1980, who survives him. Bill and Penny recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. Together, they raised their children, Amy, William J. (“Billy”), and Stacey in Keller, Texas. A lifelong nature enthusiast, the family shared memorable adventures hiking and fishing. Bill celebrated his 50th birthday by summiting Mt. Whitney (the highest mountain in the contiguous US) with family and close friends, and completed several weeks-long solo backpacking trips across the Sierra Nevadas.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Penny, children, Amy (Michael) Bacon, William J. (Elizabeth) Bacon, and Stacey (Matthew) Bacon McNair. He was “Poppy” to grandchildren Maxwell, Raelyn, Lucas, and Travis. He is survived by father William J. Bacon, brother John Bacon, and sister Kerry Aden. Close family friends Wesley and Sherri Kopp, Mark Eisenhauer, and Dawn Erickson share in this loss. He was preceded in death by mother Eleanor Bacon and godsons Joshua Eisenhauer and Eric Eisenhauer. Bill’s family and friends will celebrate his life in a private event.

Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services - Mountain Home, Arkansas.
