Roll Call Tribute

Zane Weldon Shamblin 

December 16, 2001 - July 25, 2025 

Zane was a graduate of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2024 and had just completed his studies at the Mays Business School, Class of 2025. He was the kind of person who made an impact without even trying. He was brilliant, kind, and compassionate. He was the smartest person in the room, but never made anyone feel small. He listened, he cared, and he showed up for people, even when he was struggling to show up for himself.

He carried many titles in his short life. He was a son, grandson, brother, friend, a military brat, and an Aggie. He was all of these things, and he carried them all with quiet strength. Zane didn’t just wear the Aggie ring — he lived its values: respect, excellence, leadership, loyalty, integrity, and selfless service.
