John Robert Anderson, Sr., LTC USA (Ret)
August 11, 1939 - August 27, 2024
LTC John R. Anderson, Sr. Retired Army Combat Vietnam Veteran, aged 85, passed away on August 27, 2024, at the Tennessee State Veterans’ Home Humboldt, TN.
He is survived by his former wife, Helen Claire Dayhoff-Anderson-Taylor of Niskayuna, NY; children, John R. Anderson, Jr. of Bartlett, TN; Robert G. Anderson of Ft. Wayne, IN; Claire M. Anderson of Niskayuna, NY; and six grandchildren.
He was a wild hard-working father who never met a stranger. John was born on August 11, 1939 in Charleston, WV to Alen S. Anderson and Edna Geraldine Britton (Gerry). He grew up some in Okinawa, Japan after World War II. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated from University of Nebraska with BBA in Business.
A funeral service will be held at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
