Danny Mac McDaniel
August 10, 1947 - April 19, 2024
Danny Mac McDaniel, 76, formerly of Sanger, passed away in Denton, Texas, with loved ones at his side, on Friday, April 19, 2024. Danny was the son of the late Tommy William McDaniel and the late Eulalia Geraldine McDaniel (nee Butts).
Danny graduated from Sanger High School and furthered his education at Texas A&M University, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with the Class of 1970. Danny’s first job was at McDaniel’s Grocery Store, a local store owned by his parents. Danny served as the former director of support service at the Denton State School and as an irrigation technician at the University of North Texas. He was a process engineer at Boeing Aerospace and retired from Senior Care Centers in 2002. He was a member of the New Life Church in Robson Ranch.
Danny married Brenda Sue Murdock on April 11, 1969, in Denton, Texas. The two were married for 42 years when Brenda passed on December 4, 2011.
Danny enjoyed playing golf from age twelve, where he cherished the numerous fellow golfers, many of whom became friends, at Myrtle Beach, TWU, Willow Springs Champions Circle, and on and on!
In 2014, Danny met his life partner, Bridget O’Boyle. Over the last ten years, he and Bridget enjoyed golf, football, travel, and movies.
Danny was a great person, a loyal friend, and always wore a smile. He graced our world with his presence and leaves behind cherished memories of laughter, kindness, and warmth.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Brenda, and brother, Tommy McDaniel, Jr. Remaining to cherish his memory are his partner, Bridget O’Boyle of Denton, and her daughters, Collette O’Boyle of Irving and Finula Elliott of Nevada and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tammy and Forrester Lowrie of Denton. A niece, Kristi Rhodes of Surprise, AZ, and two nephews, Kevin McDaniel of Denton and Matthew Lowrie of Denton, also survived him.
