Marjorie Jo "Josey" Duke
September 21, 1953 - February 13, 2024
On Sunday, February 11, 2024 Josey Duke passed on peacefully in her sleep. She led an exciting and dynamic life full of peaks and valleys. She grew up in a wide array of locales, from Colorado to New York to the Netherlands, before settling in Tomball, TX, where she attended high school and showed horses, winning several awards across the country. From there she moved to College Station to attend Texas A&M University. While attending college she continued to travel. Her interest in history even took her to Soviet Russia and East Germany.
After her time at A&M, she was hired by a consulting firm in Houston and mothered two sons while working a full-time job. Still, her adventures never ceased. She traveled to Morocco, the Galápagos Islands, Scotland, and Vietnam all after her 65th birthday. She was the absolute picture of patience, kindness, and love. Her ability to put her children before everything, including herself was unsurpassed. She never had an unkind word to say about anyone, and her love for her friends and family ran as deep and wide as the sea.
She leaves behind her son, Joey, her daughter-in-law, Taylor, and her two dogs, Dollie and Charlie. Her absence will be felt in the lives of all who knew her, but her memory will never be lost.
