Bryan Maurice Edwards
September 12, 1966 - April 2, 2025
Bryan Maurice Edwards was born to Maurice Edwards and Patricia Ann Stokes Edwards on September 12, 1966. He graduated from Baker High School in Mobile, AL, where he excelled in football as a wide receiver, receiving many all-state honors. He enrolled at Texas A&M University (Class of 1990) as a student athlete in 1986 on full scholarship for the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Football team playing in the Southwest Conference, where he played in two Cotton Bowls. He was initiated into the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated on March 27, 1987 at Texas A&M University through the Pi Omicron Chapter.
Upon leaving Texas A&M University, Bryan relocated to Arlington, TX., where he started building a career and family. He thereafter relocated to Glendale, Arizona where he became a police officer. Eventually, he moved back home to the Mobile, AL metro area closer to family, settling in Semmes, AL. After several years of service, he retired from the Frito Lay Corporation in 2024.
Bryan Maurice Edwards is survived by Patricia Stokes Edwards (Mother), Desiree Edwards (Oldest child), Bryan Edwards, Jr. (Middle child), Jada Gable (Youngest child), Bakari Conteh (Grandson), Halo Johnson (Granddaughter), Marie Lett Stokes (Grandmother), Sim E. Stokes III (Uncle), Don C. Stokes (Uncle), Linda Lett Broadus (Aunt), and a host of family members who loved him.
