John Francis Stockton 

September 9, 1933 - May 17, 2023 

John F. Stockton, age 89, peacefully passed away on May 17, 2023, from chronic heart disease. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Sierra Winds Chapel, Peoria, Arizona, with a reception to follow.

John is survived by his loving and devoted wife Janet; his three children: daughter Margo Ottman (Bill); sons Bradley (Stephanie) and Bryan; five grandchildren: Matthew (Isabella), Daniel (Logan), Aidan (Jerrod), Dane, and Drew; and six great-grandchildren: Maryrose, Owen, Winston, Briar, Sayler, and Nolan.

John was born in Kerens, Texas, on September 9, 1933, to Percy and Fannie Stockton. He was the youngest of five children: William, Zach, Coats, Cynthia, and John.

John attended Texas A & M University and was in ROTC where he earned a BS Degree in Industrial Technology in 1954 and returned to get a BS in Industrial Engineering in 1959. He served as Lieutenant during the Korean War in the Army Signal Corp., Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, where he met and married the love of his life, Janet Morris, in 1956.

John's engineering career took him and his family to Pennsylvania (Westinghouse), New York (General Electric), Arizona (McGraw Edison), and back to Pennsylvania (Westinghouse).

He lived in Sun City West from 1995 to 2011 and was very active in the Wood Shop, Cactus Carvers, and Engineering Club of the West Valley. He was a Deacon, Elder, and highly dedicated volunteer at Desert Palms Presbyterian Church for over 20 years.

John and Janet moved to Sierra Winds in 2011, where Janet still resides. Bridge was his favorite pastime in the last few years as well as other social functions.
