Michael D. Lyons 

December 28, 1945 - January 20, 2025 

Michael Lyons was born on December 28, 1945, in De Queen, Arkansas, to Harry Lyons Jr. and Jacqueline Ann Wilkerson Lyons. The Lyons family moved to Tyler, Texas Where Michael attended Tyler schools, graduating from Robert E. Lee High School in 1964. He continued his education at Tyler Junior College and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Architecture.

Attending kindergarten with Suzie Anderson, Michael later married her and spent 55 wonderful years in the Dallas, Texas area with her, becoming a loving father to Kelli and Carter.

Michael’s joy was 50 years of designing homes for families and considered that his job was to make the dreams of his clients come true. Later in his career he was named one of the best 50 residential architects in Dallas. He referred to himself as a cave man architect since all his drawings were done by hand - art in themselves.

Michael passed on to the beauty of heaven on January 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Suzie Lyons, his daughter Kelli Ann Frantzen, her husband Chad and their children Tyler (15) and Hannah (6), as well as his son Carter Lyons, his wife Jennifer and their children Hudson (13) and Emily (9).

A memorial service will be held on February 7, 2025, at 11 AM at First United Methodist Church, Richardson, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FUMCR or Mercy Ships.
