Michael Lee Phillips of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away October 30, 2024, after a difficult battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). His brothers knew him as "Micky", and to his friends, "Mick" and "Michael".
A private family and friends memorial will be held to honor Mick's life.
Born January 26, 1971, in Fort Worth, Texas, Mick was the third son of Jim and Traute Phillips. He attended Fort Worth public schools and transferred to the University of Houston from Texas A&M University, where he earned a degree in computer science. For most of his professional life, Mick worked with a small Houston-based healthcare consulting firm alongside Nannette Goddard, known as "Nan". Across the USA, healthcare executives and managers got to know Mick through his work traveling for decades as a consultant. He enjoyed gardening, writing computer code, and SCUBA-diving.
Recently, after the symptoms of ALS began to materialize, Mick moved back to Fort Worth where friends and family could care for him.
Mick was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Phillips and Traute Danielson; and his longtime partner, Nan Goddard.
He is survived by his brothers, Monty (Alice), Tom, Matthew, and Tyler; sister, Emily Nobel (Nick); his loving step-mom, Margaret Norwood-Phillips; nieces and nephews, Sarah Harville (Jonathan), Mary Lea Brown (Thornton), Ben Phillips (Kassadi), Annie Phillips and Oliver Nobel; his step-brothers, Cekiel and Silas Danielson; and his dear friends, Greg Books and Kirstin Seale, who were also a huge blessing to Mick and the family through his final days.
