Bobby Gene Barham, DVM 

July 22, 1941 - June 14, 2023 

Bobby Gene Barham, DVM, 81, of Corsicana, Texas passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. Dr. Barham was born July 22, 1941, in Winfield, Texas, to E.O. and Margie Barham.

Bobby was raised in Blooming Grove, TX, where he was inspired to become a veterinarian from working on the family farm. He moved to College Station to attend Texas A&M University, where he would receive his Bachelor of Animal Science in 1963 and Doctor of Veterinary medicine in 1966. Bobby married Carol Nash of Bardwell, TX on August 13, 1965.

After graduation, Dr. Barham and his wife Carol moved back to Navarro County to reside in Corsicana and had their two sons, Tracy and Scott. He began his practice of veterinary medicine and eventually started the Corsicana Veterinary Clinic in 1970.

Bobby enjoyed practicing veterinary medicine and took special pride in “serving people through pets” which eventually became his slogan for the practice. When he wasn’t seeing patients, he could be found overseeing his cattle operation, which he took great pride in.

Above all, he loved and adored his devoted wife, and he valued time with his family. He was especially fond of his grandchildren. Bobby (“Doc”) was often found surrounded by and taking orders from these grandchildren. He loved the attention they gave him and loved playing along with their bossy and sometimes crazy orders.

Dr. Barham was preceded in death by his parents, E.O. and Margie Barham, and sister Pat McGraw. He is survived by his wife, Carol Barham, sons Tracy Barham and wife Christy of Blooming Grove, Dr. Scott Barham and wife Kerri of Corsicana, grandchildren Tressa Springer and husband Ryon, Chelsey Barham and fiancé Dillon Mitchum, Collin Barham, Claire Barham, Carson Barham, great-grandson Cody Mitchum, Uncle Jerry Barham and wife Melba of Blooming Grove.

We would also like to say a very special thank you to daughter-in-law Christy Barham for all of the love and care she gave to our "Doc" every second of the way.

Visitation will be Friday evening, June 16th, 2023, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana, Texas. A graveside service will be held Saturday morning, June 17, 2023, at 10:00AM at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Blooming Grove, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Collin and Carson Barham, great-grandson, Cody Mitchum, grandson-in-law Ryon Springer, Dillon Mitchum, Colton Gowan and Matt Lynch. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Barrett, Dan Gibson, Tim Cooke.
