April 6, 1967 - October 26, 2024
Michael Ellis Easley, 57, of Baytown, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024, surrounded by his family while at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Mike was born on April 6, 1967, in Brussels, Belgium to the late Cleon and Mary Easley. Mike was enjoying retirement after serving as an owner of Baytown Ice. Prior to that he was a sales manager for the Reynolds Company, Vallen Safety, and Briggsweaver. He is a graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University. Mike loved to spend his time doing for others. As a longtime member of Second Baptist church in Baytown, he shared his talents by serving on the Finance Committee and as a trustee.
Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family. He taught his girls everything he knew about the outdoors and life in general. He was a best friend to many, teaching what true friendship looks like. He was first baseman for the Texas A&M baseball team in 1988/1989, serving as Captain during the record-setting 1989 season. He loved his teammates who were instrumental in keeping him focused during his transplants in 2023. His smile, laughter, guidance, and leadership will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents Cleon and Mary Easley, sister Carol Brown and nephew Ben Brown.
Mike is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sasha Kay Easley and their girls Michael Easley and Alexandra Easley; siblings Paul Easley (Betty) of San Antonio, Jane Easley of League City, Bob Easley (Carolyn) of Austin, and Ed Easley (Connie) of Austin; brother-in-law Gary Brown of San Antonio, brother-in-law Travis Laughlin of Lake Charles; mother-in-law Sheryl Dautriel of Westlake, Louisiana; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 5 pm until 8 pm at Second Baptist church in Baytown. A memorial will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 10:30 am at Second Baptist Church followed by a gathering after the service in Mont Belvieu.
