April 16, 1931 - July 3, 2024
Jean Elizabeth Moehlman (Deauquier), age 93, peacefully went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2024 in Houston, Texas. She was born on April 16, 1931 in Dallas, Texas. Jean lived a full and vibrant life for 73 years in Houston, Tx. Jean was dedicated to her family, faith, and community.
Jean married the love of her life, David D. Moehlman, Sr., on July 28, 1951 in Bryan, Tx where they met. Together, they built a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that touched many lives. Jean is now reunited in Heaven with her mother, Celeste Ann Deauquier, father, Bert W. Deauquier, Sr., step-mother, Sybil Hall, husband, David Moehlman, Sr., brother, Bert W. Deauquier, Jr., granddaughter, Erica Bertirotti, and countless friends and family members who have gone before her. Jean will be remembered fondly by her sister Celeste Sater (Roger Sater), children, Celeste Bertirotti, Lynne Voncannon (Jeff Voncannon), and David Moehlman, Jr. (Millicent Moehlman). As well as her surviving grandchildren, Colleen Acosta (Bertirotti), Jacob Voncannon, Sarah Conrad (Voncannon), Samuel Voncannon, Hannah Linville (Voncannon), Tyler Moehlman, Madison Moehlman, and Alex Moehlman and 11 great-grandchildren.
A devout Christian, Jean was an active and faithful member of both Pines Presbyterian Church and BridgePoint Bible Church. Her faith was evident in her warm hospitality and the many gatherings she hosted at her home. Jean's welcoming spirit and love for people created an environment where everyone felt valued and cherished.
Jean served as the President of the Houston Texas A&M Mother's Club and on the Federation of Texas A&M Mother’s Club board, where she formed life-long friendships and made significant contributions to the community. During her tenure as president, the Houston Texas A&M Mother’s Club published two “Aggie Mom’s Cookbooks.” The proceeds from those cookbooks established two endowed scholarships for Aggie students. Her dedication to supporting Texas A&M students extended beyond her own children’s education. After her children graduated from Texas A&M, she started a group for retired Aggie Mom’s (Rabbits) to continue socializing with and supporting the Aggie Mom’s she had formed such a close bond.
Jean's home was always filled with love and laughter, a testament to her joy in being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Jean's memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched through her generosity and kindness.
The family wishes to send their deepest gratitude to the staff at Belmont Village Senior Living Hunters Creek for caring for Jean so well over the last five years of her life.
