Albert Wayne Kessler
November 15, 1945 - June 26, 2024
It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Albert Wayne Kessler, age 78, who was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday the 26th of June 2024.
Wayne was born in Oakland, California on November 15, 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Edwin Kessler, Jr., of Dallas, TX and Sally Ruth (White) Kessler of Gustine, TX, and his brother James Kessler.
In 1964 he graduated from Liberty High School in Liberty, Texas and entered the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M University. His studies were interrupted when he was drafted into the Army where he served as a medic during the Vietnam War. After serving his country, Wayne graduated in 1968 with a degree in Civil Engineering and Surveying. He remained a Professional Civil Engineer and Surveyor for most of his life. Wayne loved golfing, dominoes, riding his custom motorcycle, training his various dogs to perform silly tricks, and designing and building home improvement projects. Wayne loved telling silly jokes and stories about family experiences, his time as a teenager and a cadet. He made us all gut laugh until we had tears in our eyes.
Wayne leaves behind to cherish his everlasting memory, the love of his life Cynthia Vera-Kessler, his son Eric V. Kessler, his caring stepsons Joaquin and William Garza, sister Janie (Kessler) Lindsey, his sister-in-law Janie (Pickard) Kessler and many nieces and nephews. His legacy will be carried on by his loving grandchildren, Madelyn and Mallory Kessler and Ashe, Kiernan, and Cecilia Garza.
His family and friends bid Wayne farewell with profound gratitude for the indelible impact he made on our lives. His love of life, even when sick, and his sense of humor will be forever etched in our hearts. His spirit remains with us, guiding us and reminding us of the power of love, joy, and family.
Family and friends are invited to join them in celebrating his remarkable life on August 3, 2024, at 4206 Val Verde Dr., Georgetown, TX 78628 beginning at 4 pm. His ashes will be interned in a private family ceremony in the Reid Chapel at Seaside Memorial Cemetery in Corpus Christi, TX at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity in Wayne’s name.
