Heath Colin Smith

January 16, 1983 - January 14, 2024

Funeral services for Dr. Heath Smith, 40, Wyatt Smith, 8, and Noah Smith, 6, of Paradise, Texas, will be held at 2 pm Friday, January 26, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Decatur, Texas, with a private family burial at Paradise Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:30-8:00 pm Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the church. Dr. Heath Smith, Wyatt Smith, and Noah Smith left this earth for their heavenly home on January 14, 2024.

Heath Colin Smith was born on January 16, 1983, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Rick and Joyce Smith. Early on in his childhood it was clear that Heath was gifted in the area of academia, graduating from Paradise High School in 2001 with honors. Heath went to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor, completing his undergraduate degree and medical school at Texas A&M University, and a general surgery residency at Carilion Virginia Tech in Roanoke, Virginia. A gifted surgeon who could have practiced anywhere, he chose instead to return home to Paradise.

Of all his scholastic accomplishments, Heath was most proud of his family. He met his beloved wife and best friend Andrea in the 5th grade, marrying her freshman year of medical school, 2006. Heath and Andrea eventually welcomed three sons Colin, Wyatt, and Noah. Committed to each other and their family, they took every opportunity possible to spend time with their boys and give them experiences they would never forget. Heath instilled in his boys his love of hunting, working hard, and cherishing friends and family. As they grew older and were able to do more, Heath took immense pride in watching his boys excel in their school and sporting activities.

Although their departure has left a void in our lives that can never be filled, we take heart knowing they are now singing and enjoying everlasting life with Jesus.

They are survived by devoted wife and loving mother Andrea Smith, son and brother Colin Smith of Paradise; Rick and Joyce Smith of Paradise; Tammi Presley of New Market, Tennessee; Landon Smith (Ashley) Chance Smith; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; Wilma Smith of Decatur, and Pat Potts of Arlington.

Heath is preceded in death by his grandparents E.L. Smith, Porter Armstrong, and Lou Etta Armstrong; father-in-law Steve Ericson; and brother-in law Andrew Ericson.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Dr. Heath Smith Memorial Foundation set up by First Financial Bank in Bridgeport, Texas.
