Christian Alonzo Haro
February 27, 2000 - September 12, 2023
Christian Alonzo Haro, born February 27, 2000 in Austell, Georgia, passed away on September 12, 2023 at the age of 23 in Toki, Japan. Christian was a shining light in the lives of those that knew him and will be forever missed. Christian is the middle of three children born to Robert M. Haro, Jr. and Julie A. Haro. He is the little brother to Robert M. Haro, III ’19 and big brother to Alexandra J. Haro '26.
Christian accomplished a great deal in his short life through his strong sense of faith, dedication, discipline and intuitiveness. His quick-witted humor always made for interesting conversations and memorable moments. There was always a good time to be had while in his company. Christian graduated from College Station High School in College Station, Texas in 2017. He went on to study at Texas A&M University where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in University Studies and Minors in Japanese, and Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences. After graduation, he moved to Orlando, Florida when he was accepted into the Disney College Program. Shortly after, he was offered a Professional Internship in Digital Communications with The Walt Disney Company. During his studies, Christian developed a strong interest in Japanese culture and language. He was determined to make his dream of living in Japan a reality. He applied for the extremely competitive JET Programme (The Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme), and after a rigorous process was selected to work for the government of Japan at Toki City Hall in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. He also got to share a little of himself with young students in the city as he taught English in the local elementary and middle schools.
Christian had a tremendous passion and love for God and was proud to share it with everyone. His faith was demonstrated through deep conversations with his family and friends. The song “I Touch the Sky” by Hillsong United inspired him. He truly believed that God is greater than the highs and lows and that His light shines the way, even in the darkest of times.
Christian was a loyal friend and mentor. He kept in close contact with his friends and considered them family too. Those friendships were a highlight in his life and he mentioned recently how he wanted more opportunities to travel and enjoy new experiences with them. He truly loved each of them and will be remembered for all the enthusiasm he shared with everyone. Christian loved gaming, Anime, working out, cars, travel, adventures, having “drip” and hanging out with family and friends.
Christian was living his dream in Japan. He was healthy and happy. He simply went to sleep after work one day and suffered sudden, unexplained cardiac failure with nothing in his system. He had a wonderful future ahead of him and he would have accomplished many amazing things. He is survived by his parents, Julie Ann & and Robert M. Haro, Jr., brother, Robert M. Haro, III, sister, Alexandra J. Haro, grandparents, Robert M. Haro, Sr. & Isabel Haro and Percy Alonzo White, Jr. & Sheila Ann White, aunts and uncles, Brian & Teresa White and Todd & Cindy Montag, cousins, Taylor & Katie White and Andrea & Alicia Montag, and countless friends.
The Celebration of Christian’s Life was held at Nona Church in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, October 13, 2023.
