Harold Bailey "Hal" Warnick, Jr.

Harold B. Warnick, Jr. was born at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, TX on September 10, 1934 to Harold Sr. and Iona Warnick. He passed peacefully on January 25, 2023 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, TX.
Hal was a devoted and loving husband, brother, father, stepfather, grandfather. and great-grandfather. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dallas. He and his beloved wife Carolyn enjoyed playing bridge and traveling. They also loved hiking at their summer home in Crested Butte, CO.
Hal graduated from Texas A&M University. He was patriotic and served as a major in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1978.
Hal was an artist whose work was shown in the Stanton Gallery in Dallas’ Snider Plaza. Before that, he showed his work for many years at the Southwest Gallery in Dallas where he had many one-man shows. He also painted a large commission of the Victorian courthouses and the State Capitol for a Dallas law firm prior to becoming a full-time artist in 1983. He worked 20 years for the engineering and construction company, Ford, Bacon, and Davis, before retiring as a senior vice-president.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Sr. and Iona Warnick, his children’s mother Nanette Warnick, and his stepdaughter, Dara Harris.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Carolyn Warnick, daughter, Leslie Warnick and husband Harris Donovan of Taos, NM; grandsons Owen Donovan of New York, NY and Emio Donovan of Taos, NM; son Scott Warnick and wife Susan of Dallas, TX;. three stepchildren, Karen Kalm of Frisco, TX. grandchildren Brandon Kalm of New York, NY, and Andrea Poteet and husband Trey of the Woodlands TX; great- grandchildren, Kade, Cody, and Penny Poteet;. Jan Prentice and husband Henry of Ft. Mill, SC; grandchildren Annie Prentice of Nashville, TN, Drew Prentice of Charleston, SC. and Jeff Marchefski and wife Terry of Frisco,TX; Hal’s brother Phil Warnick and wife Bo of Southlake,TX; nephew .Ryan Warnick and wife Jessica of Argyle, TX; great-nephew (Ryder) and great-nieces Maddie and Harper Warnick; niece Amy Sparks of Austin, TX and great-niece Maya Sparks; niece Ashley Warnick of Dallas, TX and great nephews Knox and Cash Valverde.
