Robert Mason Lowry, III, 74, of Plano, TX, passed away on January 7, 2023.
Bob, as he was commonly known, was born on November 1, 1948, in Ballinger, TX, to Colonel Robert Mason Lowry, Jr, Texas A&M Class of ‘45, and Charlotte Louise Kinney Lowry. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Deborah Louise Neal.
He is survived by his daughter, Elisabeth Ann Lowry McConnell, his son, Robert Mason Lowry, his grandson Adam Seth McConnell, his granddaughter Clara Elisabeth McConnell, his son-in-law Robert Seth McConnell, and his sister, Mary Lowry Carnes.
Bob graduated from Texas A&M University in 1971, Squadron 3, with a Bachelor in Nuclear Engineering. He proudly served in the Air Force as a Captain from 1971 to 1980.
After his military service, Bob worked for Ross Perot at EDS as a software programmer. He was part of developing a patent in virtual reality software. In his free time, Bob was an avid Aggie researcher and historian and devoted much of his time as an admin for a Facebook forum for former Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. He had an extensive collection of Aggie memorabilia and a complete set of Longhorn/Aggieland yearbooks. Aside from being a beloved father and Poppa, his passion in life was his love of A&M and the Corps.
A ceremony to honor Bob's life will be held on Monday, June 12th, 2023, at 10:00am at the DFW National Cemetery.
